Default Getting my shift knob straight

I took off my stock shift knob and replaced it with a Rick's shift knob some time ago. Now, I was interested in going back to stock, and I cannot get it to sit straight - with the bolt on or without it. I've tried every combination of putting the knob on in different directions and it still won't sit straight. I don't care but if anyone else drives the car, then the shift pattern is turned sideways. Any suggestions?

that little locking nut on the bottom screws upwards. so get the knob straight then tighten up the nut to lock it in place.
