Gauging Interests: Anyone interested in a HT?
#11
marty,
if it's anything like oem style, or like the amuse hardtops, i'm TOTALLY interested! there is absolutely no one with these styles which seems absurd with all the knockoffs of other style hardtops.
keep the price down as much as possible (introductory rate) for a limited time to build the hype!
realistically, i'd just be happy that someone couldn't just take a sharp object and poke a hole through the material like they could with a soft top.
let's see what you come up with!

The update is that, it's a pipe dream boys and girls. Manufacturing costs are through the roof!
The hardest thing is competing with costs of a used OEM hardtop vs this hardtop. As Jimel said earlier, people would rather just go with the OEM rather than some other hardtop.
I will keep this thread open for now, but it looks to be a 80% pipe dream as of now.

Horia is right. I am not going to go on with this to take a gamble that might be a total failure. The cost to make a prototype mold is not cheap. Not the backyard hick style prototype but the right way to make one all the way down to the inner skeleton, glass, and mounting positions.
