I thought I was slick last night going out at 1am to get gas in queens. Found 0 gas stations that had gas. Correction, I found one Hess in long island city that had a line of cars about 10 blocks long. I still had half a tank so I just went home. It's crazy out there.

Westchester is out of control. No gas any where. The one place that has gas, its a 2 mile line. I am staying home.

Bill- I noticed the Hess stations by me were the first up and running. I wonder if they have a corporate policy to be good 'corporate citizens' and have generators to be able to keep communities up and running?

Governor Cuomo was just on a press conference. the perception is that the stations have gas but can't pump. A current priority is getting generators out to gas stations so they can pump the gas. The restrictions at the ports are also lifted, so the tankers can unload and start to refill the local gas suppliers and networks.

NJ has put rationing on. Even/Odd plate systems in the 12 Northern NJ counties.

If you can do the drive -GO SOUTH AND WEST. Just about everything south of I-195 (Great Adventure as a reference) is just about open.

Went out today at 3am looking for gas. The Hess station near me has had gas all week but I didn't NEED to stop, the line was tto long and figuring I could last till the weekend. Went there today cause I'm off. People were parked on the side of the road sleeping in their cars. Some had fogged up windows like they had been there for hours. The line was easily 70 cars.
Later I walked past the station in my hood. It's been without gas for a few days now. I saw a line forming just stretching around the block but there was yellow caution tape all around the station. I asked the owner if he had or was expecting gas. He said "No" All these people are just waiting and hoping.
One of my Co workers went out to search for gas yesterday. He said he felt like Mad Max in The Road Warrior flicks.

Hard Parked with 3 bars.

We're lucky that at least for most of NYC including the boroughs public transportation can be an alternative to getting around and I think if you don't absolutely have to drive, leave the gas that's available to those that do. I've been using public transport or walking even though I have 3 cars with gas for this reason.

Yeah I'll be on the train and bus next week if I can't get gas. No sweat done it lots of times. System should be back to normal by then anyway.

As a matter of fact, Hess is the only gas station that was getting gas in 4 different towns.

Appears the only gas available in my area is not being sold to general public. It is reserved for FD, responders, EMT, etc. I think they need to do this if they want the repairs and aid to continue.

CR 31 and montauk hwy in westhampton. May be an option if your are a first responder.

I have been buying gas with the gas tanks. I bring 2 five gallon tanks and fill them up. The lines for those are a lot less longer. I have been waiting 20-30 minutes max on those lines and I've heard people waiting 2-5 hours in their cars.
