fake "faux" brakes ducts
do the "faux" brake duct come out? or would i need to cut them out? im thinking since my aem filter is behind the one, wouldnt it be beneficial to have air flowing freely onto the filter? the way it is now, the filter is in a closed "chamber"...

you'll need to cut them. IMHO, don't do it.

you do have to cut them. you don't get benefit out of it since closed chamber is behind that duct. plus, there's good chance that secondary air pump would get wet during rain.
only reason you might want to do it is routing brake cooling duct.

Hey Jay. You got a vented hood, bring that filter up top so it could get fresh air from above. If you are worried about water getting in the filter, get one of these:

i have a turbo, so it might be a little less likely to get water into the motor, but since i built a cold air intake from the turbo to the bumper (with faux duct cut open) my IAT's have decreased 10-20 degrees (from dataloggin). And now when im on high-boost, the IAT's actually decrease instead of increasing like they did before when the intake was in the engine bay! It also helps when im in stop and go traffic, helping the heatsoak issues i was having! There are definite gains to be had!
