Default Fairly funny story to share

So yesterday a friend and I went down to AC on a wim to go play some poker. The tourney started at 7pm. We left a little after 2pm and battled traffic the whole way down!

We finally get relief from the traffic by exit 58 on the GSP and it opens up but I am stuck behind a stupid ass in a mini-van in the left lane that refuses to keep up with the faster pack ahead that was doing probably going 75-80. So I am stuck behind him doing 60-63mph (not even the posted 65!!) waiting for a whole to punch out so I can catch up with the faster pack (fvcking mini-vans & SUVS! ). He finally moves over so I get on it for not even 5 seconds and bam....a trooper behind some trees nails me.

I am saying to myself...you have got to be kidding me! It was almost like a setup. But anyway I wait for the trooper and thankfully he only gave me a "risk of creating an accident" and not the speeding ticket for 81 (3pts on my license and no doubt a hit to my insurance). Bless your heart trooper if you happen to read this!

Here is where it gets funny. So now I am gun shy the rest of the way down and I set my cruise control to 65. I am in the right lane and I am getting smoked by all sorts of cars flying by me doing 75-85. No doubt they were all probably thinking why is that sports car going so slow. I would say 2 minutes after receiving my ticket, a blue WRX with a few mods (exhaust, probably a dp, etc) thought I was going slow to set up a race and he pulls up next to me wanting a run Man, I wish I could have obliged him by dropping it into 3rd , but instead I had to just ignore him My friend was laughing at me.

To make matters worse that night, I made the final 2 tables, which normally nets you some winnings when you are eliminated, but this tourney only paid out 9 spots.

So the moral of this story is.......drive a mini-van to AC

Damn Make, thats nuts. get yourself a radar detector. they tend to help. and if the ticket was from NJ i cant see how it would effect your NY license or insurance.

Yes, I definitely will be getting a detector before I take the S down there next time. It is my understanding that NY and NJ DMVs are connected in someway sharing information. The funny thing is, I saw a whole mess of cars on the way home doing 90 in the rain, tailgating and stuff and not a trooper in sight

Murphy's law. cops will show up when you least expected.

for the law, as far as I know, only NJ pulls in "full" point from outer states. used to be 2 points no matter what it was. NY and any other states would not pull in from other states. in other word, if you get a 4 point ticket in alaska with NJ license, you will receive 4 point in NJ as well.
