If you haven't gotten pictures carfax vin numbers, basically everything to make it a comfortable transaction dont do it.

I bought my s2000 from ohio and had great communication from the dealership, got any pictures i ever asked for, as well as carfax.
IMO you should never have to send more then a few hundred dollars as a deposit and then be able to hand a check to a person/ dealership in person.
