I've been mostly a lurker on this forum, but I'm hoping you have some time to add me to your VIP list and take a look at my aging '01.

Bought the car at 75K and it currently sits at just over 100K now. Have never performed any maintenance other than oil changes every 3000 miles. The car has been steady and true for the past 2 years, but today it finally gave in.

After a run through 1st to 4th gears, the car idles very poorly with a distinct ticking sound and noticeable cabin shake. The problem seems to lessen when you give it a little gas in neutral or start accelerating. It seems to idle just fine when the car is warming up with the slightly higher idle RPM, but once warm and idling around 1000 RPM the problem is prevalent.

The CEL was blinking briefly on two separate occasions today, however, it has been a solid CEL 98% of the time.

I would like to get it checked out ASAP if possible and would prefer to avoid the dealerships for now. While we diagnose this problem, I would also like to have a general checkup/once over service to make sure the rest of it is running in top shape. Please PM me if we can schedule something.

Many thanks in advance.
