Billman Motion S2000 Repair Thread IV
#1504
Hi Billman,
Looking for the Honda S2000 TCT replacement, I have an S2000 1999 model. 143k KM. Rebuilt engine at 138k km.
Some hopefully relevant info:
Engine was rebuilt late last year due to a failed big end rod bearing, mech said the rest of the engine was pretty much pristine.
Since then, hearing a ticking noise that only starts when engine is half warm (25% on the heat gauge, as it sits at 50% of the gauge when fully warm) and gets louder. When the car is being used, sometimes you can hear it at lower revs, but really noticable above about 3-4k RPM. If I keep using the car and revving it a bit (I don't push it above about 5-6k ever since I started noticing the noise, rather scared of the engine killing it again).
After the rebuild, brought it back to the mechanic, they readjusted the tappits which they said were out of alignment a couple months after the rebuild.
Any thoughts on this, as I was looking at the TCT as the potential culprit. Afaik this is the original TCT.
I live in Melbourne Australia, do you know how much it would all come up to including shipping?
Thanks!
