Thumbs up Besides a test pipe, how can drone be reduced?

Hey I installed a Spugen dual oval exhaust yesterday along with a Megan Racing resonated test pipe. The sound is awesome with that exhaust, however the drone is really intense. I had a headache and my ears were in pain after a little driving. I know test pipes are supposed to make that better. The resonator is all busted up in the Megan test pipe and you an hear it rattle around loud when driving, so I am going to replace that, but do you think the resonator being busted up in the test pipe would create more drone than if the resonator was in good condition?
Any other options to lessen the drone? I really don't think I will be able to stand it much longer if there is no way to reduce it. Car feels great and definitely feels faster to me with this setup, but I commute 65 miles a day and the drone range is right where the rpm's are while cruising, 3k to 36k rpm's or so. Any suggestions?

drone can only be replaced with a diff exhaust...

a testpipe will reduce drone....BUT itll be louder...

but every exhaust drones.

just the amount differs

you get used to it lol I used to commute over 50 miles a day and I've gone thru alot of exhausts....I even got used to an invidia w/ testpipe lol.

You can add in the OEM helmholtz resonator. I know a guy who installed this onto his invidia and it helped interior droning.

what exactly is drone...? im guessing its that sensation when everything in your interior is rattling between 2000-3000 rpms?

it works to a certain degree! the two systems would need comparable volume and size piping! I wish i knew some cad and sound processing software because you could design your own helmholtz setup for your specific setup, and others... and could probably make lots of money selling them!

I got it used from a member here in metro. Love the sound, just the drone is a bit too much for me. Is the Helmholtz resonator just the stock resonator from the oem exhaust? If so where can I get one and how drastically do you think it would alter the sound of the exhaust system? There are just a couple rpm ranges where it is so harsh it make me cringe. Other than that it's not too bad.

Yeah it is, I love the sound and look just not the drone. Thought I have bad drone in my eclipse with a 3" n1 style turbo back exhaust, nothing close to this one.

the helmholtz is the tube that comes out at a 90 degree angle in relation to the rest of the tubing. Not the box looking resonator in the middle of the exhaust
