I dont think I'm gonna be able to make tonight, I have visitor from out of town (work) and we are going to some bs dinner tonight, and I'm carless

Interesting. What exit on the LIE is it again? And what time does all of this start? I get home from work at around 7 and I live in Queens. I wanted to make sure I would have time to get there.

Northern State ends before you get out far enough.
Your best bet would be to take NSP to Vets Hwy and then take the LI Expy the remainder of the way.
