Ok, I went to Best Buy tonight to look at some car audio. Although they're a bit pricey and I wouldn't buy it there, audio is audio. I am tired of my speakers since I really can't hear them well with the top down going 80+ mph. So, I've decided to buy a new set of speakers and hook up an amplifier to them.

I really, really liked the Alpine Type R's...they were one of the most expensive there but they sounded awesome and even when I was blasting them they were crystal clear. I was originally looking at my old amplifier, the Alpine v-series. But it's a 4-channel, so I was really considering the Rockford Fosgate P200.2 since it's a 2-channel and puts out pretty good power. It's $250 and I honestly don't want to be spending more than that.

So, I suppose my question is...is this a good setup? If anyone has experience and knows of a better amp let me know. I'm pretty set on the speakers though, lol.

you can use your 4 channel and bridge 2 channels to make it a 2 channel amp and not have to spend the extra $250 and get more power. if you dont want to do that...no 1 says you have to use all 4 channels anyway. I say get the speakers 1st and if that does the trick...yer good if not then upgrade the amp. take it 1 step at a time and it may end up being cheaper
