Im pretty sure there are nursing positions availible on long island. My mother works for Winthrop now (not a nurse) And i used to work at Mercy Medical Center (housekeeping whats good!)

Northshore Healthcare System as well as Catholic Healthcare System are great places to start. Each have more then a few hospitals in thier control.

My mom is a RN at perth amboy, and knows nurses at centrastate / old bridge. As of now, they are laying off nurses, forcing more hours on fewer people, etc. Charity care is downright killing off our hospitals

I wonder when there will be some CHANGE...

It's tough out there. My good friend is a nurse at St. Joe's. He wanted to goto Africa to volunteer for a month. Unfortunately, St. Joe's would have to let him go if he did that, whereas a few years ago they wouldn't have. Unfortunately, he isn't going.

wow nice to see so many willing to help out. Since she is a recent grad with no experience she is looking for a graduate nursing position. She will travel so even if its far please ask. She has begun to apply to places in MD and DC. I dont want her to go that far because id rarely see her. Hopefully someone has an IN for her.

thanks guys. As of right now she is not concerned with how far it is. so LI is not a problem. She is really set on getting into a hospital though. She has her resume ready to go if any of you guys need it and has an awesome little portfolio she made that she hasnt been able to show off yet since she had not been on an interview. Her lack of experience is killing it for her I think. I guess the crazy schooling and testing she completed to become an RN isnt enough. People have to start somewhere.

Thanks again guys. Much appreciated.
