my verizon wireless contract is up in a month and i have been considering getting nextel for sometime. Ive talked to many people who have it and have gotten mixed reviews... whats your opinion?

Umm well i've had nextel before in the past and i thought the service was only so-so. Half the time when I use the doot-doot "direct connect", I couldnt make out with what my friend would say. The regular service to my opinion isn't great as Ive gotten tons of dropped calls.

I'm using Verizon now and on my 3rd year already. Never looking back to another cellular service again as Verizon truly rocks. Don't switch man!

I had nextel for three years up until a month ago when I switched to Cingular. Nextel used to be good, but for the past year the 2-way was horrible. It would take me at least a minute to get through to someone and when I would it would come in messed up half the time. The phone service with nextel was also dropping alot of calls lately. I personally wouldn't recommend it to you and I used to be a fan of nextel.
BTW, Cingular is not much better, but at least I have a small phone now and I have a shared plan with more minutes.

I have a NEXTEL through work but NO way would I pay for service w/ them with my cash.
