1) put brightness a bit lower
2) turned off wifi so it only searches for it when I want it to (usually at home)
I have two push emails (work and yahoo) and one fetch (gmail - every 15 mins it will refresh) which keeps the data coming in and out constantly, contributing to battery use.

well i only have 1 gmail account for it to go retreive every 10 minutes, other than that just texting, calls, and safari to feed my s2ki addiction
