Default Any iPhone users that previously had a Blackberry?

I am debating whether to switch from my Verizon Blackberry Curve to the iPhone. Specifically, I'd like to hear from those former Blackberry uses who heavily used the GTalk, AIM, and GMail applications, as a concrete solution isn't really available from Apple for the iPhone.

I tried the iPhone forums but I figure if you have an S2000, I somewhat trust you.

well I can tell you basic gmail and aim work perfectly fine. I've never used any other gmail "tools" so I can't really input on that

I've had a few BBs before, 8820, 8100 pearl, 8300 curve, and 8310 curve titanium, they are all great great phones.

but i still think the best phone out there is the iphone. Theres just so many features, and the fact i don't have to carry a mp3 player around is also great.

I assume you use IMAP for gmail?

Also, can you stay on AIM the entire day? That is have AIM on and listen to music, use other apps, send SMSs, etc?

the good thing about blackberry is that you can stay on gtalk/aim all day and not have to exit out of it to use other applications/use the phone/send emails etc..
