Amazing F-15 Video and Story
A friend of mine sent me the following link to a video about an F-15 that got one of its wings shot off and still landed ... some plane, some pilot:

What surprisess me is that with all the power he needed to expend, (assuming that he was not in after-burner) the leaking fuel didn't ignite and blow the plane up.... I would have been so outta there!
Here's a video of what could have happened... It's a test of what was at the time the new F/A 18 "Super Hornet". The bomb dropped by the F18 becomes unstable in the airflow of the new jet and floats upward into the trailing aircraft (A-4 Skyhawk). The A-4 bursts into flames after the impact forcing the pilot to eject. Fortunately, the pilot managed to eject safely and was unharmed.
Mid-Air with a bomb....
