i sometimes get the same thing and im standing right next to it. its weird.. takes a few clicks then it will work
This is absolutely normal actually, The reason for this is Code hopping. All Viper alarms have this, this means the codes from the remote to the alarm are consistently changing, which give you your delay.

oh ok, good to know. Weird, cause sometimes I'm locked out of my car for a few minutes while i'm standing next to it pressing unlock over and over again

had my alarm and radar detector installed by jose yesterday morning..very clean and professional install..would definitely recommend going to him for any alarm/electronic needs
