Default ac issue

so my ac stopped working today. it was working fine yesterday, but today no cold air... i dont hear the normal 'click' when i press the button nor do i feel the extra strain(?) on the car while driving..

i guess it could be time to recharge (freon or w/e) but it didnt seem to slowly run out...is there anything i should check myself before bringing it to a shop to be looked at? i guess the next question is how much is a normal price to get the ac system recharged and back running? any input would be great. thanks in advance.

We recharge systems for about 100 usually depending on the car.

if theres no click it could be as simple as no freon being in the system and it shutting down as it is supposed to to further damage .
or it could be more than that....
waht u can do, which is not "legal" is take a small screw driver and press down on the shrader* valve on the a/c line - if it comes out, you have some freon....
sucks man - mine is starting to get warm spots....

Mine wasan't working I was told to check the fuses first. Sadly it wasn't the problem, there was a hole in my conden$or.

I looked at the all the fuse boxes and pulled and replaced all the fuses that refer to A/C. There are spare fuses in the fuse box that you can use. I also switched the relays around.

If it stopped working all of a sudden from one day to another i would think it would be more then needing to recharge your system.
No one should ever need to "recharge" his or her system.
You have a leak and should find it and fix it.
YES you can just keep recharging your system and it will work, but the right way is to fix the leak.
But personally from what you have said happened i think its prob something electrical. Can it be low on charge? Yes of course but if the cooling gradually didnt get worse, good chance it isnt low.
