Thumbs up 7" gps/dvd system in dash install ?

I am thinking about shortly getting a full gps/dvd/music hard drive/cd player system that I would want installed in my dash as it wouldn't fit in the din anyways.
I was looking at the pioneer one which seems to have tons of features, great gsp, built in 30gb hard drive to store music and movies, blue tooth and really everything I could want. I was wondering if there is a local place that anyone has gone to to get a 7" in dash screen installed? Also anyone have any experience with this unit? Pioneer gps system
If I did get this what would be done with my stock head unit? Just chuck it out and have an empty hole?

I know jeff (minitoyota) has installed a double din DVD/Navigation in the stock radio place! It looks pretty good! Although im not sure if a 7inch is larger than a double din!?

If you do put it on the dash, you could always use the area for gauges or controllers!

In one of the adds for the Pioneer gps system it said something about it being 4" tall and perfect size for a double din. Those double din ones actually fit in the stock radio area?
Anyone ever mount a VAFCII in the stock radio place? Think I would do that if I remove the head unit.
