Default 1986 AWD civic wagon.....

whats up guys, my girl drives a 2008 civic SI and shes back in school and doesnt want to make car payments anymore, shes looking to get a car that will last 3 years and be reliable, while looking around i came across this 1986 civic wagon AWD, already wrote the guy, said the car was his stepfathers and has been in the family...

i read some mixed reviews on these, but i always take reviews with a grain of salt because i dont know the person reviewing it...anyone ever own one of these of have experience with one??

they are a ton of fun plus its a civic and awd at that. that alone should be good enough reason. well really you should look at it in person to make sure its in good running order. go to a specific forum and see if they have a checklist before buying. where does she live? does she get alot of snow? and how did she cope with just having fwd before? i mean if she managed with the Si im sure she can get a 95-2001 (any model civic)for a low price on CL and have money to spare. take some time and look locally first.

i dont like that. I wouldnt want my gf up at school in a rare car that very few knows the common problems. If she can handle fwd like xpl said I would just get a a regular civic.

A car that old, if not maintained for the past 20+ years, will nickel and dime you to death. Especially if you aren't handy with your spanners.

Just sold my '91GS w/ 68K miles on it. Sister in laws boyfriend bough it and they live down the street so I still get to visit it.
