Is it just me, or does anyone else think its over kill putting your whole headlight in the oven? And maybe even a risk of some meltage or deformation. I know everyone does it that way, but a heat gun is so much easier, faster, and less Stressfull!!
Heat gun has a higher chance of deforming or ruining the plastic as it's super concentrated heat that you have to move evenly around the seal without leaving it in one place too long, where as the oven is even heat all over the headlight assembly that allows you to just pop the cover off when it's pliable enough. Like Raven said also, you DON'T put the bulb and the ballast in the oven.

It was a PITA Ronnie to clear the headlights. And yes just have to take off the front bumper to replace the HID bulbs. Also at the end you need a this special star tool to get to the HID bulb itself.

Or a pair of vice grips.

I have the star tool as well.

lol I've already replaced the lights. It was super easy. And I only used a small screw driver to get the star off. worked perfectly. No special tool needed here.

Excuse the fender, one of these days I will have it restored to its well deserved glory.

I had a freind do this to my markers. I like it. Just throwing out an option.
