Default Coilover install?

Alright. I've driven around today to a couple places trying to find somewhere to get my coilovers installed. I went to Chet's and the guy there said they don't install customer parts, but he would corner balance and align the car once the parts were on the car. I went to A-J Tires after a recommendation from Quanz, and since I don't have the height adjust tool, they said they couldn't install. I went to a shop near my house, The Garage, and they quoted me a little over $800 for install and alignment and that seemed like way too much money to have them installed - I only paid $800 for the coilovers themselves!

So... First - does anyone know whether the height adjust tool is universal? Or is it specific to the particular brand of coilover? If it's universal, does anyone have one I can use?

Second - does $800 sound extravagant for a coilover install or is that normal? I thought this was something people did in their home garages.

Third - does anyone know a place to get the coilovers installed, or can anyone help me install them? I would like to install them myself, but I don't have a jack or the know-how to do it. I would get everything corner balanced and aligned afterwards.

Thanks for the help.

They're buddy clubs. I think the tool is universal. I need some help installing though. I don't have any tools at hand.

I've read a couple DIYs for installs, and I just don't have a jack or a stand or any tools. And I feel I'm still not good enough to do it by myself, I'd feel much better with someone there who's done it before.

And if Eric or Andy wants to post here telling me they'll help, that would be great. I don't mind paying someone to help me install them.

Its a super easy install and shouldn't take more then 2-3 hours. Spanner wrenches(the adjustment tool) are not universal but for coilovers they are all pretty much the same and most any should work. I dont really like charging people to do stuff but I'm down to help. Or if you want to ask andy he might charge you a bit cause he has a lift but he will do a great job too. Either way I would never pay 800 dollars to install.

That would be cool if you could help. Maybe some weekend after the holidays? I'll buy you lunch that day too.

Thats pretty expensive, make sure you load the suspension before you tighten down the lower control arm bolts. Just a lil tip most people don't do. good luck
