Default Anyone have any idea how to import a JDM car?

I know a guy trying to import a JDM Civic Si-R. Super clean, but dealing with customs is a bitch and we're getting the runaround. If you or anyone you know has done this, how did you get it done?

From what I hear envelopes of cash seem to help.

"changing the model on the title" helps. For example getting a Skyline in the US is next to impossible, but a Sylvia 180 SX seems easier to get in.
