Alpine 9056 I believe. Its a great deck. I did not switch out the speakers originally but I did just order some infinities 6022i. Should be in this week. Will A. here on the boards is the electronic master.

If you want to use a head unit that isn't on Modifry's "approved head unit" list, contact him and he may be able to make you a custom module. I had him make a control module for a Clarion head unit and it works perfectly. Good luck!

They don't make them--they take bids from electronics companies who do it for them. But take the recipe of an underpowered radio powering crap speakers, all of which are built in the cheapest way possible by the LOWEST bidder... yeah, it's not going to turn out well. Jerry, you have the 9856, same as me I believe.

Hey Claude, I was thinking about it, and the issues you have may be related to the car's power distribution and not the radio itself. Especially since you noticed some weird behavior when you plugged in your cell phone. The radio and the power outlet are not even on the same fuse, so if a power outlet draw is affecting the juice to your radio, there could be either a short further up the chain, or a problem with your alternator. An aftermarket radio using the stock wiring may experience the same sort of problems. It could be made to work, if you create your own power, ground, and speaker leads (as I do) but this may point to other, more significant problems with the car. Hope this helps.
