Default 2005 S2000 radio issues

I have a 2005 Honda S2000. Generally, when I start the car with the radio in the on position, the radio will come on normally. At other times, the radio doesn't play and a green light is flashing at the upper right hand corner of the radio (maybe anti-theft, but "code" doesn't display). At other times, the radio doesn't play and a RED light is flashing instead of the green light. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason for the way it happens. In either case (red or green) the radio eventually comes on, usually after driving for 5-7 minutes. Recently, I tried to use my phone charger in the power boost--when I plugged the charger in, the radio stopped playing but came back on when I unplugged the charger. What gives with this radio!!!!

I contacted a local Honda dealer who said they had never heard of such a thing. Can anyone help? Thanks, everyone.

well the red light is the theft light but the green is new to me. honda cant make a radio to save thier lives. i know that they do over heat and wont play cd's and they get stuck in there just like mine did. you may just have some loose wires or bad ground, i wouldnt be able to tell you unless i took the radio out.

You'll be much happier with an after market deck anyway.

Dont you lose your side audio controls when you change the deck though?

You do but modifry has something to fix that issue. But the sound is so much better as the after market deck has a lot more watts.

I saw the fixes but they were expensive. Did you go modifry's route?
