Default You guys try Aldi yet?

Jeff i know you love saving $$ at the market and i guess there is one in Raynham

http://aldi.us/us/html/company/shopping_sm...80_ENU_HTML.htm

i've always heard about this store from german chick but have never been to one

some strange but good ideas - you have to rent a cart for a quarter - you get your quarter back when you return the cart

no bags - bring your own (like BJs)

no credit cards - cash or debit only

and from what she always told me - prices can't be beat

and a double guarantee ( walmart can't touch this!)

Quality, taste and satisfaction are always DOUBLE guaranteed at ALDI. If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money.

Simply return the item to your nearest ALDI store.

think i am going to check it out this weekend

I wandered through Aldi a couple months ago. There is nothing in there I want to buy; It's all off-brand surplus stuff.

i've been to the one in cranston. interesting concept. for the most part they don't even have shelves, everything is stacked and there is only one or two different brands of stuff. and the brands are all european brands you've never heard of. but it is damn cheap.

for the basics like OJ, milk, etc... good place. But it's NO Trader Joe's.

aldi is a niche market, I think they do take credit cards but not checks... they do offer really low prices and do have some name brand products but the reason they offer lower prices is everything is done in bulk, they do from time to time offer name brand, they have everything just might not be the name u want on the the bottle/can. a company that offers the same kinda deal is price rite they are from nj and starting to move into the area. they also offer the lower prices across the line but have at least one brand name product of everything most they have more but also displayed in the bulk way most aisles don't have shelf's just whole pallet displays. they have basically every thing your traditional store does minus a deli it's not a bad place for the stock up and save deal but not a place for your weekly shopping. down fall is meats are also whole sections so u have to cut your own steaks ect not a prob for most. sorry for the long windedness just worked in grocery retail for almost 12 years haha so i know a lot about the business.

neither of the stores really offer lower prices then the ads you get at ur shaws, price chopper, stop and shop, or big y type stores just they offer that lower price everyday and work off volume rather then profit.
