not too sure Jeff as this will be my first full season burning wood
i think last year i used maybe 1 cord but that was mostly just on the weekends plus we had a warm winter

nope most on the firewood board burn wood and use oil / gas to supplement the wood they may spend 300 a year on oil..
some of these guys don't even have oil and gas but rather Outdoor wood furnace and they get all their heat / hot water with wood alone and others use wood for their sole source of heat and they burn 24/7 from oct to march
me - (my insert is too small for 24/7) so i figure i'm going to burn when i get home from work and burn on the weekends - a few times last year the house was 80 (almost too hot) while it was freezing out
