I take blood pressure medicine to manage migraines... I am "allergic" to the generic brand, they give me MORE headaches... so I have to take the brand name.

Generic copay - $10

Brand name - $50

Have to fork that over every month.

I can sympathize.

I have three scripts which all carry the max copay of $35 month.
two of them, need a note from god becuase they are not on the 'standard formulary', better known as drugs that actually work.
the third got dropped totally this year and now I have to go fight for that one too. otherwise that one is about $85 a month.

Try asthma meds on for size. NO current preventative generic asthma meds available, since they changed the properties of a basic inhaler. Everything is second or third "tier".

Ellen, Jerry, look into if your insurance has the mail away plan. Generally, you get 90 days for the price of 60 days. $100.00 co-pay, vs $150.00 if you buy at the pharmacy every month.

Rick's plan is even better, one co-pay gets us a three month supply.

"Wally world" offers many generic drugs at at cost of $4.00/month. It's hard to beat that price even with insurance. Thank goodness for Wal-Mart. Looks like Bass found better bargain at Walgreens!

My insurance plan has a $100.00 deductible on prescriptions before they pay, (then a copay of $10.00 $30.00 and $50.00 or 60.00) and a $1500.00 deductible for any surgery, testing, MRI, yada, yada.... I want to work with Jeff and get a job with "real" benefits.

If you have meds that are on a permanent basis, or more than 3mos I guess... the city will order them from Canada and you don't have to make a co-pay because they save so much on it. They actually pay YOU $25 to start ordering from Canada instead of locally. I think they are saving a few million a year doing this.

I've bought a few things which were not covered by my plan, from Canada myself.

They don't let drug companies/ reps get rich there, so prices are cheaper....
