Winter Storage question
I am going to be travelling and storing my S from XMAS until the end of May. I have read Ohioracers list about storage. Great list!!!
However, is there anything to put on the rotors so that they will not rust during storage??
Mr J
PS I am storing the car outside under a cover

Live with it, they are a disposable item...
You can spend lots of money and get rotors that are treated so they don't rust, but they are way more money and typically not as strong as OEM.
I agree the rust is unattractive, but in the big picture, it's no big deal.
The rust on the braking surface is going to be very monor, and will wear right off as soon as the car is driven.
The rust on the inside is more of a problem, because it does not wear off, and only gets worse.
For me it's no biggie, my rotors never last more than 6-months anyways.

You'll be fine if you wash the car, give it a drive around the block and park it in your garage. The rotors are not likely to gather too much rust in that case. Outside is a whole different story. I suppose you could slather them with machining oil like they are covered with when they are new, but then you'd have to pull them off and clean them with brake cleaner when you want to drive. Other than that, they are going to gather a fair amount of rust. Even that rust isn't too much to be worried about, it'll come right off after a couple of stops. Unless you're parking it on the grass... in that case, the brakes and just about everything else under the car will rot alarmingly quickly.
