Default Who has had a clutch done around MA/RI?

I am looking for recomendations for mechanics who have done aftermarket clutches on S2000s. I will not take it to any dealer, so that is out of the question. Also, if you can give me an approx. price on what you paid for labor and how long the mechanic had the car. thanks

I know Sung did his aftermarket clutch and i think it cost him around 2k..

Jeff i spoke with Darknight1999 regarding my clutch and he stated that the dealer will do TSB 054 for free even if you bring in your own clutch..

best

I have an 02' so no TSB for me Besides, it's not that the clutch is bad, because it is fine for even the most spirited of driving, untill I flip the magic switch and it just can't hold the extra power. Oh well, I might have to break out the helm and do it myself. Shouldn't be TOOO bad

Jay, as my experience, Herb Chamber at Seekonk, they will do it..!! as long as yours is 00-01, you could get a free TSB-54 done. TSB stands for Technical Service Bulletin(hopefully I spell it right), that is more of a recall, but this won't bring any further problem nor safty issue.. so, it is a TSB instead of the recall..

as recommended, Bernardi in Natick is well-know in New England that does a very good job on S2000...

Yeah, I will have plenty of time this winter since I bought a 90' CRX Si to beat around in. I didn't go to the track because as soon as I hit the N20, the clutch slips, so I don't think I will improve my time much.

My personal mechannic did it for me. It took him about 5 hours and he said now that he has done it once he can do it again even faster. I paid him $400 to do a clutch/flywheel install and oil change. Would probably do a clutch/flywheel install for you for $375. He is an acura tech who knows NSX's and he is moving to a honda dealership to be their S2000 guy in a few months.

If you need more information I would be happy to put you in touch with him. You could hang at my place in CT while you wait for him to do the work.

I am very happy with the install he did of my Clutchmaster Stage 4 and toda flywheel.
