Default Where can I shop for a helmet in Boston?

Hi gang..

I've been lurking in the NE site. My baby is in Toronto and is great for the weekends but I've been working in the Back Bay during the week.

I want to get involved in solo racing so I need to get a helmet but it's difficult to find places to shop for one on the weekends. Many of the racing specific shops are open Mon - Fri and gone to the track on the weekends.

Can anyone recommend somewhere close to the Back Bay where I might be able to check out a few helmets? (remember, I'm dependant on the "T" while I'm here so romps out to Wellesly or something are a bit challenging unless someone wants to give me lift)

Thanks in Advance...

Hmm... Dependent on the "T"?

Not too sure of places to buy helmets in the city.

But if you can get a ride... or if someone here is willing to take you...

Give HMS Motorsports a call in Peabody, MA. Just north of Boston.

Ask for Joe Marko, and let him know you heard of him from this site. Definitly give him a call before you head up there, just to make sure what his inventory of helments are. He tends to run out quickly this time of year.

www.hmsmotorsport.com is his website. And their phone number is 978-532-1170.

HMS has helmets that you can try on to make sure they fit (important) and they have very fair prices.

Hope this helps! And welcome to Boston!

There really isn't any shops in the city that sell racing helmets, particularly in the Back Bay area. HMS does, and they open on Saturday morning as well. Bad news is they are not at all T-accessible. If you want to go there on Sat morning, maybe I can help.

I am just a little confused if you are here in the weekend, or are you back in Toronto?

I've been working on a project here for since November so I fly down Monday or Tuesday and return to Toronto Thursday or Friday...

The flight is just over an hour.

www.pegasusautoracing.com

They are a very nice family run business, selling all of the best helmets. Call them and get a paper catalog, it has tables for each brand with fitting/sizing information versus head circumference in inches.

Kind Regards, Chris
