Default What cell phone service do u recommend in Boston?

Hey New Englanders,

I will be moving to the Boston (Allston, Brighton, Back Bay area) for grad school in a few months and changing my cell phone plan to accommodate this location change. I currently have Verizon in Los Angeles and it works brilliantly. I get service pretty much everywhere I go, unlike Cingular.

What are the recommended wireless services in Boston? I don't talk on the cell phone that much, but it would be nice to have reception when needed.

Thanks,
Ken

i used to live in that zip code, now i live in 02134 and Verizon has always worked great for me. I cant actually think of never having service within 495 with it. doesnt work so great in CT or VT tho.

I've had Cingular and ATT and friends have Sprint and Verizon. Verizon always seems to have the best coverage in this area. I would say Sprint has always had the worst.

Out my way, Verizon is clearly the best option. I had AT&T (now Cingular), when I lived in Boston. That was hit or miss. I'm really not sure it applies now since my experiences were about 4 years ago.

yeah, you would like Verizon. They even have broadband wireless in that area. My Treo loves it.

on the upside verizon, has good coverage.
on the downside, they suck to do business with.
it's the little things like disabling features in the phones so you have to use their network. it is clearly about them. hey we're the phone company we don't have to care.

Verizon here......not in boston though. When house hunting, I just asked my Agent who she used....these people are all over the place and need to use their phones...

Where is Svetlana when you need her....?
