Hey, that was me. I just took up smoking and I didn't want my wife to smell smoke on my hands, so put on fake casts and ask people to light my cancer sticks. Thanks for the help!
Great idea! She didn't notice the smoke smell in your hair????.............................

ah, never mind.

I gotta go back to 5 guys burgers soon. Maybe I'll take a field trip some Friday.

Nope. Hands are the only problem.

That reminds me of when I broke my collarbone and I had my arm in a sling. You just can't tie shoes one-handed, and I wasn't flexible enough to get my shoe up to my chest so my other hand could reach it. I had to shuffle down my dorm hallway and find someone to tie my shoes for me.

Not a cancer stick, and they weren't strangers, but I can see how you come to terms with asking for odd favors.

But that is a good question about the wiping. Maybe he has a bidet.

Rick's arm was in a sling for many months. Not just an ordinary sling, but one with a little attached pillow to keep his arm away from his body.

We don't generally wear our shoes around the house. He puts his shoes on before leaving, but could not tie them because of that sling...I tied his shoes every day for months. Double tied them so they would not come untied during the day.

He needed help with his pants at times...I bought easy on jogging pants for him as I knew he would not ask anyone, especially a guy for help with his pants....

Awesome! I had sweatpants for the first 2-3 weeks. I got some blue jeans on and made it out to happy hour after the 3rd week, and I still recall one of my female friends immediately saying "hooray, you're wearing real pants!"

I would have gotten away with sandals or something like dock siders for no-laces footwear, but it was February at the time.

And now I just remembered.... atrophy is a b!tch.

The pants had a string, that I would tie "just right" every AM.

We were out one time and they needed an adjustment...OK, no big deal to me, though folks looked at us funny as we stood near the rest room with me tying his pants.
