i agree talk to the installer. ask them install questions. you can tell if they know what they are doing.
if you are semi mechanical you could probably install yourself. i had a friend help me with mine. took a while but i learned alot about my S and the wiring.

Westerly is about 2 hours from me, but its worth the drive for a proper install. If you (or he) know of anyone in the Danbury, CT area that would be great. I was going to check out Sounds Incredible, its a small local installer.
I was also going to talk to best buy and see if they"ll lower the price if they don't install it. I just wanted to use up some gift cards I have.

I believe they do Viper now too. Just say Jim with the S2000 recommended you and you would like Joe as your installer. It's probably a given that he would but can't hurt.
If you have any questions on the place or anything else about the shop just PM me. I actually worked at the shop for 8 years. Hope they never retire! I wouldn't know where to go for installs.

Best Buy =
NO NO AND NO
I speak from experience, I have friends that work there and agree with me on hacking up peoples cars.
At the time I worked in Arizona doing mortgages, If I was lucky I might of had enough time for lunch never mind working on my car or taking it some place to get the work done. Across the street was a Best Buy Store *How convenient I thought*. How bad could they be I thought to my self? So I bought a viper alarm and had them install it while I worked.
Let me tell you. One hell of a hack job. Year later after having wires stick out from underneath the dash I visited a high end custom audio shop and asked them if on top of the custom sub box they could rewire the mess underneath the dash. I said... "Ill pay as long as it's not over $100." They BTW sold alarms as well and constantly worked with cars on a higher end.
Moral of the story is they said this will cost you too much and we rather not mess with this hack job. Where the hell did you get this done?
I wish I had it done @ the professional place and wouldn't of minded paying more. Best buy car audio guys are mostly High School kids that are paid 10$hr and Dep Manager @ $15hr that don't care about quality of work. Just get it done is the motto. If it works, good enough.

My ex fiance works for Best Buy and when we were together I would never have let them install something in one of my cars, let alone now that we aren't. Either DIY or take it to a specialist...
