I just jumped on ebay and looked at completed auctions for V1's.
i saw 400$ pretty regular so I figured....
I will just toss it on FleaBay.

The reason some on ebay sell for higher than what VR sells them for is because people in europe cannot get them easily and will pay extra for it. I don't think VR will ship to europe for whatever reason.
For reference, I bought my V1 1.8 with the famed 3.813 software revision for $225 on craigslist a few months ago.

i bought my 1.8 for $200.00 BUT the seller was really nice 
Ted - sorry to crap on your for sale threads BUT you're prices here are always HIGH -
new england has always taken care of their own with regards to selling items and i don't understand why you don't do the same
heck post your stuff on CL or Ebay if you want top dollar
oh btw office depot has the Cannon Rebel XT w/lens $396.44
