Anyone worked w/ SCDA before?

If not, I have the eMail from this guy, shall I see if they will work a group discount for us? I'll do at least one day and could be talked into 2. The March dates are on a Mon and Tue, as I recall.

Francis,

I've been invited to run in a private (?) event at Lime Rock...they rented it out for the day. Evidently, another member here will have an S2000 for the Parade lap, and I'm looking into the group (out of three) that is filled with inexperienced drivers (i.e., slower...hopefully). My rear 730s are down to the wear bars, and I'd like to track on those instead of tearing up a new set. Does this sound reasonable to you, or should I put the new set on first?

Private event? Can we get invited? If you are only down to the wear bars, you should be ok, but if you are down to no visible tread blocks, then you should use a newer set. But if you use a new set, make sure you have them heat cycled (drive for at least a few hundred miles before hand).

Make sure you get a written approval for the S2000 to run at The Glen by SCDA before you travel all those miles. The rules as stated on their page are open to interpretation in a big way.

Triple-H, I have an eMail from SCDA quoting exactly "We also run at Watkins Glen and NHIS, and those tracks permit you to run
without a hardtop." and "At Lime Rock Park, The factory Hard Top on an S2000 is acceptable." So I'll go on that word.

The Track Time school I attended at the Glen last July required you to run with the top up unless you had arm restricter belts. It's not a problem unless you sit very tall in the seat.

Quick Reply: Track event, anyone?
