Dude, I am ALL over that. Now, the big question is: who can hook me up with a rollbar that will get me on Lime Rock?

OR, will the hardtop be an acceptable alternative?

Hardtop is not an alternative.

I can't decide how to interpret this:

What is your convertible policy?

For safety reasons, all convertibles (Boxster, Miata, Corvette, Z3, etc.) are required to have a roll bar that meets the following two criteria in order to be eligible to run during any event. 1) The roll bar must be in the fixed position and visible at all times. This means that roll bars which are designed to automatically deploy are not acceptable unless they are in the full upright and locked position at all times. 2) The roll bar must allow the driver to pass the "broomstick" test which means that the top of the drivers helmet must be below the line from the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield. There are aftermarket roll bars and/or seats which can be used to help meet these requirements. If your convertible meets these standards, then you are welcome to participate! Factory hard tops are acceptable, as well.

LAST LINE seems to imply that I can throw on the hard top and be Ok on the track.

SCDA has allowed stock S2000's to run on the track in their events last year. I would assume it would be the same this year as well. So don't worry about the roll bar issue if you are just planning to do SCDA events.

It's the rest of the other 99% track events that you might have trouble passing that "broomstick" test.

Oh, so it's club-specific? Thought it was a track issue. They indicated that other tracks had no problems w/ convertables, but that Lime Rock's policy was more restrictive.

Thanks for clarifying.

Watkins Glen and NHIS will allow us to run our cars without a new roll bar or Factory Hardtop. Limerock will not allow us to run track events without a new roll bar or a factory hardtop.
