WTF is a Trance DJ?
Trance = a form of electronica
DJ= Disc jocky
Typically, these high end guys produce their own work and well as sample and remix other music, though typically samples come from other electronic ie Trance, Techno, Jungle (Drum and Base), House, Break and others.
It is really good "zone" music. Trance tracks are usually 6-8 minutes minimum and sweep through passages like classical music. In fact, this is probably the closest thing to what classic music has evolved to. The DJ is more like the conductor with a pallette of instruments/samples to work with.
It gets its name because it is hypnotic, but the energy level is pretty high.

I have a pile of Van Dyke & Oakenfold records and the only time they get any play is when I need background music for a get together. Trance is kinda or maybe I'm just not playing it loudly enough.
