ticket for 1 mph over speed limit...lol
This guy I work with just got pulled over for going 56 in a 55 by a state cop.....he was issued a $100 fine for it too. I never heard of anything so ridiculous. He was coming from Mass to Hartford and I thikn it was a MA cop that was following him....I guess they are having a competition going who can make out the most tickets lol

gee normally they reserve that type of action for the end of the quarter.
it think, no I know, I'd take that one to court.

Hmmm. I think there's something wrong with that story. It just can't be that simple. Last I knew, speeding fines in MA started at $50 for the first 5 mph over, then $10 for each mph after that.
Did he do something to tick off the cop? Is he a hot shot driver? Did he use the ticket as an excuse for being late this morning? Most important, have you actually seen the ticket?

Man that sucks... I would be out of my mind if that happened to me. I was just watching the other day on TV how this lady got pulled over for doing 10mph over speed limit. The cop asked her why she was driving 75 on a 65 and she responded "Isn't there a unwritten rule or safe zone where you can drive 10 or so mph faster then the posted speed limit." The cop asked her where she heard that from and eventually said no, there is no unwritten rule for any of that. Though I think the majority of americans think the same way as she does.

He didnt tick the cop off, the cop came up to him and told he was speeding by going 56 in a 55 which is breaking the law. he said youve got to be kidding me. he was in the right lane following another person on the highway. he wasnt late and I didnt see the ticket. right after the cop left back to his car he went after another person.
it's obvious he has to write a bunch of tickets.
guy pulled me over. wrote ticket. pulled out into traffic and pulled the next guy over before he got out of sight. shooting fish in a barrel.
and bruce i think it may be up to $100 for the first 10 now.

It still may just be a $50.00 fine for that "much" over the limit. There is also a $50.00 "state surcharge" on tickets, for some kind of "injury fund". Sireourex can explain it better....

There needs to be some leeway - vehicle spedometers are not that accurate. Honda digital motorcycle displays are up to 5% wrong in either direction. I'm sure the same holds true for other vehicles. I'd mark that one "not guilty".
