Come out to my end of the state. The Berkshires. Plenty of culture and you can stay at some reasonably priced places if you wish,
I like to be near water. I think we're pretty set on Canada/Bay of Funday. Now just need to determine where we are staying.

Lainey and Rick,
Come UP to Canada, stop and visit Montreal area,on the way,and drive to Quebec city,(150 miles north);I'll meet you guys there and guide you through the old fortified city, and we can have BBQ in my backyard...
-Emil.
You could stay home,(we have guest room),and we could take a ride to the Eastern Township,to show Rick, where your Parents came from...
It's an official invitation;it would be my pleasure

That's so nice of you, Emil. Maybe another time. For now, we're heading to the Bay of Funday area. Need to finalize some reservations, but we'll get up your way some day.

Have a nice trip, Lainey! No matter where you stay, I know you will have a great time. It's a beautiful area. The place we stayed near the Rocks was a B & B, but the room was more like a motel room, with little interaction with the owners, but unfortunately, I can't remember the name. They had a small zoo-like backyard overlooking the Bay of Fundy:
Just wondering why you want to avoid B & B's...you can get some very good local advice from the proprietors, and have some delicious breakfasts and interesting conversations to boot!

Traveling to S2KI meets has been a great time and we've enjoyed meeting so many new folks and socializing with them. B&B's seem to come with a bit of obligation to socialize. Sometimes, we prefer to be more anti-social or kind of under the radar, so to speak. We're not all that keen on staying in people's homes anyway, even family. We just prefer a hotel.
We settled on two nights in Moncton, two in St. John (Best Westerns) and a chalet in the woods just outside of St. Andrew's for two nights. Nothing I selected was all that inexpensive, but the inexpensive places kind of made me

Thanks, Gene.

I understand what you are saying about B & B's. Your privacy means a lot, and sometimes you just want to be left the $^%& alone! Have a great time and take lots of pics!!!
I hope to find lots of things to take pics of. I should be able to use my better by vacation time. It's right around the weight limit I'm allowed to pick up.
