Default Tell us where to go!

We may take a few days off in early August (wedding anniversary)and/or a week few days in Sept after Labor Day. Looking for suggestions on where we get away from life for a few days. Must be reasonably priced.

We've done ME, NH, VT, the usuals around here. Thought of Quebec, Bar Harbor, haven't been there in a while Niagara Falls, (went there years ago and kind of enjoyed it). Sept is a nice time of year on the Cape. We could even take two cars and bring the bikes along, for daytime, and the S for other cruises....

Toss me some ideas....

Last two short trips I took were:

Montreal: Stopped in Burlington, VT which actually has a nice little downtown shopping/restaurant area and waterfront. In Montreal we hit up an S2000 meetup (I know), the Botanical Gardens, and went to the waterfront Old Montreal" area for window shopping. Pretty reasonable 3 day trip. The stop in Burlington was nice to break-up the driving.

NYC: Weekend jaunt down on the FUNG-WAH (next time I'm doing Bolt). You can't get transportation cheaper Hit up an awesome wine dinner, central park, Rockefeller center, museum of natural history. Didn't have time to do the Guggenheim, maybe next time. Do-able on the cheap if you have hotel points to cash in, otherwise the hotels in mid-town are a tad expensive.

Speaking of the Cape... anyone have experience with renting a place for a week there? I'd like to do that at some point.

Yes driving. Montreal could be on the list. Went there many years ago. Easy to get around once you are there?. NYC is not on the list. Too much city for this country girl. .

Old Quebec stay at the chateau Frontenac ROse and I will be doing it in mid July. I will let you know how it was. Went to St. John New Brunswick last weekend stayed on the coast for 4 days really nice getaway. The only downside right now is the exchange rate only favors us by 5%.

I also thought of the Bay of Fundy area, wanted to spend some time there last year and didn't. I'm not sure how long of a drive, not sure Rick can/will take a full week off, so might want to keep the drive under 8 hours. Maybe plan two long weekend get aways.

Chateau sounds expensive.

the chateau is very expensive. The bay of fundy for us is about a 5 hour ride so for you figure on 7 not horrible. You can get to St. Andrews by the sea in less time it is a beautiful Canadian resort town. Check it out.

you can get some beautiful cottages right on the water for <$90 a night.
