Default Sylvania SilverStar headlights

So, I had a bulb burn out in my Audi (no HIDs, all halogen) and I was debating those Sylvania SilverStar bulbs I've seen advertised. I don't even know the price difference, but I'm wondering if they're observably brighter/better than standard bulbs? They claim a higher color temp (4000

I put them in my '07 Passat.....tad more blue and bright....not sure worth the expense, but if you are replacing anyway. I replaced perfectly good (and new).

you can do HID's low beam around $150

I thought about it, but with 114k miles on the car, I'm not too interested in going that route.

little bluer little brighter supposedly have a longer life and if you do them do them in pairs so your headlights match, personally I say buy the cheapy bulb the silverstar aint worth the $20 xtra.

Have them in my S2000 and they work great. Put them in my truck and one side would burn out every month!

I have them in my grammys Accord and there brighter then stock. it sux when they burn out quickly.

Well, I got a pair of the Silverstars (Not the Ultra) and put 'em in yesterday afternoon, but I have yet to turn them on. I shall find out this evening. Hopefully they don't burn out too quickly... if so, back to the regulars I'll go. The previous set were almost 4 years old.

For those keeping track, the H7 bulbs cost me $38/pair, which wasn't bad considering a pair of regulars would have been close to $30. The Ultras were $50, but since they were out of stock I didn't have to make that decision. It's probably for the best.

If I like 'em, I might get a set for the highbeams in the S2000.
