Default Suspension questions

Hi everyone!

I just got new Hankooks v12's, 215's in the front and 255's in the back to replace my old Sumitomos. I will be replacing my MY00 suspension with '06 shocks and Tein Springs in about a month. The only reason for the stock shocks is because mine have about 100k on them and these were cheap (temp. solution), however i will be upgrading to Koni yellows in the future. My question to is, what other suspension components should I consider replacing taking into consideration that I will be under my car for a whole day anyways... Tie rods, or just the end boots,? Since I will be getting an aligment a couple of days after I do my springs, I figured it would be a good time to replace anything that might need replacing in the near future.

Any suggestions welcomed!

Thank you!

I'd just inspect and replace anything that looks questionable.

I'm running the V12's myself and I am pretty happy with them

I agree, no use replacing stuff that is good. Check the tie rods, rock the wheel back and forth while it's up and listen for a bad end. Check for ripped boots, etc... probably going to be fine.

Funny I am also running the V12's. Got them for a good price and they seem to be fine but I don't really push my car that much.

Ditto- just check on the rubber parts and only replace if needed. You could always do a front sway bar while your at it.

I've pushed em quite a few times and they don't complain at all. I'm planning to try my first auto-x next month down in Hartford, so I'll report how well they do there. Very predictable tires though.

Ditto on the front sway!

Thanks for the response guys, I will inspect and replace as needed.. I had Sumitomos and they did very well (I also don't push my car very hard), and it seemed the V12's did very well from everyone's reviews and they have an $80 rebate now so that didn't hurt either..

What kind of alignment would you guys recommend? Last time I just got OEM specs, but I don't know if I should go with a UK alignment? Keep in mind that I don't really track the car...

I'm running the UK alignment and it should have come this way from Honda here in the US. With that being said it is a much better performance oriented setup, but it will eat tires sooner due to the toe/ camber. If you're going to auto x, get the front sway, alignment, drive it then I'd invest in the strut/ springs, or coilovers depending on your driving style.

I really won't be tracking my car anytime soon. I might just get an UK alignment and see how it works out.

Thanks
