Today's activities have been cancelled due to snow on the runway. At least I got a chance to drive my car to Ayer and back!
The next event is Sunday, May 6, at NHIS in Loudon, NH.

John,
I wanted to tell you, when I was following your car on 495 on the way home, I thought I could see your x-brace from the back of the car....do you know if the x-brace can be seen from the back like that?
Count me in on the drive up to NHIS (assuming the snow has melted by then)...any idea what time we should leave the area?

Dana,
You made me look! I cannot see it from the rear of the car. Thanks for coming along this morning. It's too bad that the event was called off, however, thanks to the Friday storm, my shoulder and neck are killing me, so I definitely would not have been at my best today.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the May 6 auto-x. I will be up in Northern NH that weekend for a family event. There is something going on in Orange, MA on the 29th of April but many of you guys will be on your way home from Asheville on that day. I don't want to wait until June if I don't have to.

John,
I know it's April Fool's Day, but I swear I didn't ask the question just to make you look . Actually, I could see what appeared to be a cross bar with round holes drilled in the bottom...perhaps I was seeing the rear bar (although it doesnt have any holes in it)? I looked on my car when I got home and didnt notice anything that looked like what I saw on yours. I will have to check out your car next time I see it.

John,
It actually looks pretty good...now I am wondering, if it is the new low spot on the car, and if you have to be more cautious of road debris. I am still undecided on whether or not to get one, especially after watching the S2000 videos with Francis the other day and seeing how much potential is in the car without one. I would be happy if I came to within 80% of the driving capability of the car after seeing its full potential in the hands of a professional (without the x-brace).

Dana,
All I can say that is that there is a noticeable improvement in the steering feel and response over stock, something I would not have thought possible. Also, the car feels much more solid on rough road surfaces. Overall, it seems to tighten up the chassis.
Minimally, with it being the new low point on the car, it may offer some protection from road debris.

The improved feel will probably improve driver confidence and probably help you go faster. But in terms of actual raw improvement just because of the brace (if you don't take driver confidence and feel improvement into account), is probably minimal at best, if anything.
Given that, for most of us who do not drive on the track a majority of the time, the improved feel is probably nice on the street.
