You guys might be interested to know that the site is considering banning selling entirely in all but a few forums.
As far as we (New England forum) are concerned, everyone has their own opinion on how to buy or sell stuff, and for the most part, we New Englanders are a generous lot. I'm proud to be associated with this crew.

this is new news because i thought the admin left it up to the local mods about selling - futhermore it would be a great loss if locals could not sell to locals
is this to increase membership sales (most here are members anyway) ??
i know Metro has followed the site rules with regards to having a membership in order to sell BUT glenn thought it best that all could sell (which i think was a good idea on his part)

I'm all for supply and demand, let the market correct any inconsistencies. It would be a disservice if big brother ie s2ki came in and limited our freedoms. Like folks stated above we know what things are worth and we call BS in a humorous way when we see it

George,
The issues are site-wide (though I don't know of any instances from our neck of the woods). Any time a deal gets messed up, the screwed party inevitably goes whining to the management.
Yeah, you can run a free market on your site, but outside the confines of your community (like ours) what recourse do you have?
Maybe a guy like Steve would actually be willing to get on a plane and go "pay a visit" to some shmuck in Salt Lake who screwed another guy from Malaysia out of a set of coilovers, but you can't police things that way.
eBay, and other sites like that, are set up for selling. Really, s2ki.com isn't.
That said, I'm just telling you my perspective. None of this may happen. It's just being considered.

are there that many "bad" sales - i would say that 98% are great - it's nice to know the seller either local or in other states - ie i trust ALL of the old timers
now a "sponser" is different - i know the s2ki market place just shut down and if customers are not getting help s2ki should help mediate a problem -
