I dont know Bill , this is from Edmonds . By the pics and the description I would not label this car as AVERAGE , I would consider it as CLEAN .
Now the numbers are not so far off . You always price a car with room for negotiation .
scho01- I think your asking price is spot on and not unreasonable at all with a little play room .
Ask Tommy make the buyer think they talked you down when they gave you what you wanted . Both partys are happy . The seller got what he wanted and the buyer thinks he was a great negotiator and got a deal by talking you down .

Even using your assumptions Scott, do you really think private party pricing to this community is "spot on" when it is $300 above dealer retail?

Oh and the seller is not your friend ???? I see
This is my point I see a lot of membership and friendships being lost over stupid things .
Maybe Glenn should ban all sales in this forum ( Problem solved ) . That way no more local deals and you would have to buy from strangers :-( Even though this is probably the one thing Steve and Glenn seem to agree about .
What happen to the car club ?????? This is not Steve deal of the week coupon club , thats a whole other forum .

To answer your question, I guess I thought that this car club was about people who helped eachother out. I'm not saying anyone has to give things away, but even using your basis of valuation, the CRV is being offered at $1500 over the private party sale price. And if the car is really average and not clean it is being offered at $3500 over the private party sale price. This is not being offered by a dealer with full dealer liability and warranty.

I am sure he is only looking for private value( his post does say or best offer ) . But in practice everyone wants to negotiate a deal . Setting the price at private party value does not allow that room anymore .( NADA value )I personally would not advertise the lowest price I would accept either as this forum is not private to members only .
I was going to go into this further but I think the whole idea that because we are a Honda S2k club that we need to short sell ourselves. The buyers and the sellers in this forum are both friends and possible members . I dont think it is our place to hurt one friendship to help another . 0 day posters post should just get deleted and , yes selling limited items to make profit is not what the club is about either ( Cough , cough PS3 )
Everyone is not on a equal pay scale, some make more and some make less . I the beginning most made more and just wanted to get rid of stuff to make room for the new toys. Not everyone is in that position anymore . I know i am not . Some need to move on because it is necessity not for luxury .
It sounds like we have to buy our friends buy cutting ourself short selling items ??? I dont think friendship or club involvement should be based on if you can get a deal or not . I thought a club was a group of people with a common interest (S2k). Unfortunately we have lost our focus on that. Lately everything seems to be focused on money .
So Scho01 , just total it and make more $$$
