Default Steven Tyler's rendition of the National Anthem

When Steven Tyler came out to sing the National Anthem at the Pat's game yesterday, I wasn't expecting much. The National Anthem with it's high notes is a pretty tough song to sing, and we've heard some pretty bad performances over the years. Tyler's wasn't the worse, but I thought it was pretty bad. He screwed up a few of the words too.

I have this "thing" about the National Anthem. In my opinion (and it's just my opinion) the person singing the anthem shouldn't add too much of his/her style to it. "Rockin' it out" just ain't right.

So how did Tyler do?

Crap, I clicked the wrong selection and voted "yes."

I thought it was awful....

And I favor this, just bring it to 'not singing it with the correct words' intentional or not and I would be happy! Cops don't let you go because you 'accidently' sped...

From an article on line: Greg Gutfeld, host of FOX News Channel?s Red Eye and co-host of The Five, added: "i went outside to put a raccoon out of its misery – then i realized my neighbor was watching Steven Tyler sing the Star-Spangled Banner."

Lol. It's just Steven Tyler sounding like Steven Tyler. Would have been wrong for him to sound like something he wasn't.

Like I said, I didn't expect much. Sometimes it's good to lower your expectations, it minimizes disappointment.

And sometimes, you get pleasantly surprised! I almost universally have low expectations. I'm just that kind of guy.

EDIT: Ok, I just watched it for the first time. It wasn't as bad as I expected. I can't say I liked it, but it really wasn't all that awful. Fact is, he's a rock star that's older than my father, and his voice just isn't what it used to be. I'd rate the performance as "somewhat pathetic." I think I feel bad for him more than anything else.

As much as Kraft has done for the Pats and the organization, He needs a dope slap for this one.
I'm not blaming Stevie, he sang like I sort of expected he would, badly, maybe slightly worse but Kraft should have known better.

It was unimaginative and even off in a few places.

Not my favorite singer anyway.

while i put my hand in my heart, does not seems right for someone to sing the national anthem trashy --- it's disrespectful.
