how about 200 feet of rubber tire stacks?

my guess is that the NHRA is having a meeting to discuss what to do with this now or has already had it.

I would think a tire wall would be better than a regular
wall but would still mean SERIOUS deceleration very
quickly. May have been enough to save his life, though.

Apparantly there have been a lot of concerns voiced in the past about the runoff area there. Too bad they were not reacted too. Im not sure what would be sufficient to stop a 300mph car but what they have in place there currently is a joke.

Just read that Wilbur Hardee, founder of the chain that bears his name, has died at age 89.
