Just read the article on the RDX.
what are they thinking when coming out with the priceS on these cars.
List price is $32.995
and price as tested $37.110 that's on the turbo model.
240 bhp @ 6000 rpm
260 lb-ft of toque @ 4500 rpm
not bad...not bad....just don't know why they would come out with a small suv and a price tag of a MDX ?

I think it's a hint as to where the price of the new MDX is going
You may already know this but the big price differential to "as tested" is for the technolgy package (Nav, Blue Tooth and ELS radio).

$32,995 also gets you the Turboed motor.
Even at $37,110, you are still 5 -10 grand below a comparable X3 which is what Acura was aiming for with the RDX. And once the rest of the competition arrives (Infiniti CX35, Volvo XC50, VW Tiguan) the price of the RDX will seem more reasonable as the rest of these will be right in the ballpark or higher.
Acura MDX is starting at 41k and a loaded tech and entertainment packed MDX will top out at 49k. A modest price bump over the outgoing model (36k for a Base model and 42k loaded) but the new one will have SH-AWD and a 300hp V6 and a MUCH improved interior. It should be worth the premium IMO.

It is interesting to see Honda playing w/ turbo application, but a 4-banger w/ turbo on an SUV-like vehicle is... well, odd. Wouldn't it make more sense to put hybrid Accord's powertrain in the RDX instead? Everytime I try to make sense of this car it makes my head hurt...

I think Honda was going for a little more ooomph in the bottom end without going with a larger displacment engine. I personally would have snatched up a V6 with a stick the day they came out, if they had given me the option but I'd give the T4 a chance... someday.
Funny, cause the new Mazda CX-7 has an eerily familiar powerplant under the hood... I don't know, I am on the fence about this one, but against its competitors it stands a chance in the power and handling aspects.

I drove one with Erin the day after it came out.
I liked it, but the interior fell short of the Toureg. Handled great, and the plant did out out with little/no lag. Mileage is on the sucky side, and not much better than the T-reg.
