Ridgefield Medium House or Danbury Huge House
#12
Redding's a great town (3 s2ks's here too! i bumped into another one at the post office since we talked on the other thread about the Uconn show). Prices are definitely lower than Ridgefield, for example my neighbors house is going for $440k, its 2400sq ft and 2 car garage . We're definitely more rural and I like the rural feel and privacy that all the trees give you.
Bethel has some nice areas too, and there's quite a price difference between Redding and bethel. However, we have the best public school system in Fairfield county. I know the HS is ranked #1 currently, but we fight with Ridgefield for the top spot.
Hope this is some useful info!

for you guys that know redding well....do you find it a pia to get to local shopping. middle of the night food run or whatever? Seems it would be like Pound Ridge and very secluded. We were looking toward Ridgefield as it seems to have a little more life, and Danbury is very close. We are in our early 30's late 20's and still want to have some fun - no kids yet. We find Pound Ridge to be pretty borring especially since we don't have kids which I know a lot of people meet each other through their kids. Just hope Redding isn't like that. Thanks!

If you are in west redding then danbury and bethel are not too far at all. I make a lot of late night runs up to the local mcdonalds, burger king, etc with friends. Theres the danbury mall and stop and shop about 7 mins from me. Trader joes, costco, shoprite, honda dealer, starbucks, chilis, desert moon cafe...I could keep going...all 12-15 mins away. We also have a train station, so a trip to the city is a walk down the street.
